Every year August 15 marks and remembers a very historic and important day for us Indians as it is the day when our brave freedom fighters gave up everything to gain us freedom. But for Catholics it is a dual celebration because along with the independence day,  it also celebrates the solemnity of the Assumption of Mary our mother into heaven. 

The day's celebration began with the celebration of the Eucharist at 6:30 am, 7:45 Am and 10:30 am.  After the 7:45 am mass all the parishioners and the school staff gathered in the school ground to honour our nation by hoisting our national flag. The program commenced with a patriotic song.  Rev Fr Jerome D'souza,  principal welcomed the gathering. 

Mrs Rajeshwari, lecturer gave the 74th independence day speech. Then the flag hoisting was done by Rev Fr Basil Vas, correspondent and he gave a message of independence. High school headmaster Mr Mohan Nayak delivered a thanksgiving speech.  Sr Jascintha Pinto,  HM of English medium school, Mrs Jascintha Lobo, HM  of Guardian Angel school,  Fr Steevan Coutinho  Assistant parish priest, Mr Leo Rodrigues Vice president and Mr Jerald Moras secretary of the parish were present for the flag hoisting program.
