On 18th August 2020, Dn Amaresh DSouza of Sacred Heart church, Madanthyar along with Dn Gladwin Prashanth Pinto of Allipade parish were ordained as priests for Dominican Order at St Anthony Church, Allipade, Mangalore Diocese by Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha.

On 22nd August, Fr Amaresh celebrated his thanksgiving mass at his home parish , Sacred Heart Church Madanthyar. At 4:00pm the Holy Eucharist began. He was assisted by Fr Basil Vas, parish priest and other priests. Fr Vishal Monis, parish priest of Peruvai church proclaimed the Word of God and preached a meaningful homily.

After the solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist, a short felicitation program was held. For the program, along with Fr Amaresh, Fr Basil Vas, parish priest, Fr Jerome Dsouza, principal of Sacred heart P U college, Fr Steevan Coutinho, Assistant parish priest, Fr Joseph Dsouza, OCD - Superior of Ashadeep, Fr Vishal Monis, Fr Amaresh's parents - Mr Valerian and Clotilda Dsouza, Mr Leo Rodrigues - Parish Vice President nad Mr Jerald Moras - Parish secretary were present.

Fr Basil Vas wished Fr Amaresh good wishes and prayed God's blessings upon him and honored his parents. On behalf of the parish, Fr Amaresh was honored by Parish priest and the parish pastoral council members.

Finally Fr Amaresh expressed his heartfelt feelings and thanked everyone who played a part in his formation and helped him to ascend the Holy Altar.

The program ended by singing a hymn praising God.

During the mass and the felicitation program, all norms related to Covid-19 were observed.
